Dr Inga Martinkutė

Dr Inga Martinkutė is a partner at MMSP and an international dispute-resolution lawyer with more than twenty years of experience as counsel and arbitrator. She specialises in international investment law and arbitration, complex commercial disputes and public international law.

Dr Martinkutė has represented states, state-owned enterprises and private investors in significant disputes across the Baltic region and wider Central and Eastern Europe. Her practice combines extensive experience in investment-treaty and commercial arbitration with academic expertise in investment protection, comparative property law and international dispute settlement.

Representative Matters

Arbitral, Professional and Academic Appointments

Dr Martinkutė has been designated by the Government of Lithuania to the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators on two occasions. Her current term runs until November 2029. She is also included on the principal list of arbitrators maintained by the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration and has acted as arbitrator in proceedings under different arbitral rules.

She is a member of the editorial board of the European Investment Law and Arbitration Review and an assistant professor at the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University, where she teaches International Dispute Resolution. She served on the Board of the European Society of International Law from 2022 to 2024 and played a leading role in bringing the Society’s 2024 Annual Conference to Vilnius.

Professional Recognition

Dr Martinkutė is a member of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law’s Investment Treaty Forum.

Dr Martinkutė is the author of Reconciling Domestic Property Regimes and International Investment Protection: Origins, Comparisons and Contestations, published by Brill | Nijhoff in 2026 as part of its International Investment Law series.
